Nuno Carvalho holds a degree in Production Engineering in Portugal and a Master’s in Marketing in Spain, as well as Certification in Channel Management and Executive Sales Techniques from the USA. Has worked internationally since 1999 with different companies and cultures, in Asia, Europe and America.
He has worked for billion-dollar companies such as Comparex (later bought by Dimension Data) and Tandberg (acquired by Cisco Systems), having held positions from the Assistant Manager level up to Country Manager. As a serial entrepreneur, Nuno has more than 20 years of experience in setting up his own startups in fields related to healthcare, namely a clinic and a project initially related to the emergency number 112 that was awarded by EENA in Brussels as ‘Best Project’ out of 70 submissions in Europe.
He has also led a project with AGFA Healthcare in Brussels in Radiology and was responsible for the growth of a Portuguese Health Group in Europe. He has other experience as a ‘business angel,’ being a co-founder of a fund to invest in startups. Has negotiated with several venture capitalists for his own startups and as a consultant for others.
He published over 150 articles about entrepreneurship in leading business newspapers, including Reuters. He is also the author of a book published in 2010 about entrepreneurship to help other entrepreneurs, as well as participating in several talks at seminars, and in television and radio. His favorite hobbies are reading, music, the cinema and flying private airplanes as he is also a pilot himself.
