Inês Matias studied Cell and Molecular Biology at Universidade Nova de Lisboaand after completing her Bachelor’s degree, she worked for 4 years as a researcher assistant and lab manager at the laboratory of Prof. Sérgio Dias, first at the Instituto Português de Oncologia, and then at the Instituto de Medicina Molecular (IMM), both in Lisbon.
Since 2014, Inês has worked as a Junior Grants Manager for Triple Helix Technologies, an independent organization providing Funding Management and Technology Transfer services to researchers, institute administrators and businesses. Inês worked in-house at the Champalimaud Foundation, but has also collaborated with other Portuguese research institutes, such as the Centro de Estudos e Doenças Crónicas (CEDOC) and the Instituto de Medicina Molecular (IMM).
In 2015, Inês obtained a Master’s in the field of Economics and Management of Science, Technology and Innovation from the Universidade de Lisboa. In her thesis, she explored the role of science and technology management companies in the set-up and coordination of multi-partner scientific alliances. Her work was completed under the supervision of Prof. Vítor Corado Simões.
Inês’ current interests lie in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.
As Pulse Manager, her main task is to support entrepreneurs on a daily basis and to make sure the Healthcare City is the best place for entrepreneurs to expand their companies globally in the health sector.
